Terms of Service

These Terms apply to individual services and add-ons bought on this site.

Cancellation policy: Sessions: please reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours ahead; later changes and missed sessions count as held. Cancelling a service: a service cancelled before work begins is refunded in full, and a Mock Admissions Committee Review is non-refundable once the review begins. For other services, email suhani@arboradmissions.com to request cancellation; the service is paused while I take up to 14 days to resolve your concern, and if we can't, the part not yet delivered is refunded on a prorated basis. Use-by dates: Mock Review and Leadership within 12 months of purchase; Aid and Extracurricular until high school graduation. Anything unused by then isn't refunded, but it can be transferred to a sibling. Full details are in Sections 3 to 6 of the Terms of Service.

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern the purchase of individual services (each, a "Service") from Suhani Garg, an individual doing business as Arbor College Counseling ("Arbor"), through arboradmissions.com, including the Mock Admissions Committee Review, Aid and Scholarship Advising, Extracurricular Advising and Leadership Project Mentorship, and add-ons to those Services (such as additional colleges, programs, sessions or essays) purchased through Arbor's add-on form. By completing a purchase, the purchasing parent or legal guardian ("Client") agrees to these Terms on behalf of Client and the student receiving the Service (the "Student"). Counseling packages are governed by a separate signed Counseling Package Agreement.

1. Services. Each Service includes the deliverables described on its service page at the time of purchase. Turnaround times commence upon Arbor's receipt of all required materials. The booking deadlines stated on each service page shall apply. Purchases for support on applications due in fewer than ten (10) business days, including add-ons, are subject to Arbor's availability and a rush fee of twenty percent (20%) of the purchase price; the rush fee does not apply to Leadership Project Mentorship. If Arbor cannot accommodate a rush request, Arbor shall cancel the Service, notify Client and refund it in full. For the Mock Admissions Committee Review, the full review, which takes ten (10) business days, must be completed before the Student's earliest application deadline. Arbor is closed from December 23 through January 2, and Mock Admissions Committee Reviews are neither purchased nor performed during that period.

2. Payment. Fees are payable in full at the time of purchase through Stripe, Inc. Fees paid for Services purchased while the Student is in 9th through 11th grade shall be credited toward a counseling package entered into within sixty (60) days of purchase, up to a maximum credit of $1,000.

3. Sessions: Scheduling and Late Changes. Client and Student shall provide at least twenty-four (24) hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Within twenty-four (24) hours of a scheduled session, a change may be requested only by email to suhani@arboradmissions.com. A session cancelled or rescheduled with less than twenty-four (24) hours' notice, or missed without notice, shall be deemed held and shall count as delivered. Arbor may waive this at its sole discretion. Any session cancelled by Arbor shall be rescheduled at no additional cost.

4. Services: Use Periods and Expiration. Each Service, including its sessions and any add-ons, must be used within the following period (its "Use Period"): (a) Mock Admissions Committee Review: within twelve (12) months of purchase, and in any case before the Student's earliest application deadline as required by Section 1; (b) Aid and Scholarship Advising: until the Student graduates from high school; (c) Extracurricular Advising: until the Student graduates from high school; (d) Leadership Project Mentorship: within twelve (12) months of purchase; and (e) an add-on: within the Use Period of the Service to which it is added. Any portion of a Service not used within its Use Period is not refundable. Instead of expiring, the unused portion may be transferred to the Student's sibling under Section 6 if Client requests the transfer before, or within thirty (30) days after, the end of the Use Period; otherwise it expires.

5. Services: Cancellation and Refunds.

5.1 Cancellation before work begins. Client may cancel a Service for any reason before Arbor begins work on it, by written notice to suhani@arboradmissions.com, and shall receive a full refund. Arbor begins work on a Service when the first session is held or when Arbor begins reviewing the Student's materials, whichever occurs first.

5.2 Mock Admissions Committee Review. The Mock Admissions Committee Review is refundable in full until Arbor begins reviewing the Student's application materials and is non-refundable thereafter. Its debrief session may be rescheduled in accordance with Section 3.

5.3 Cancellation after work begins. After Arbor has begun work on any other Service, Client may request cancellation by written notice to suhani@arboradmissions.com stating the reason for the request, such as dissatisfaction with the Service or a change in the Student's plans. Arbor shall have fourteen (14) days from receipt of the notice (the "Resolution Period") to address the request, including by resolving Client's concern, adjusting the Service, or offering a pause or a transfer under Section 6. The Service shall be paused during the Resolution Period: no session shall be scheduled or counted as held without Client's agreement, and the Use Period under Section 4 shall be extended by the length of the pause. If the request is not resolved to Client's reasonable satisfaction by the end of the Resolution Period, Client may confirm the cancellation in writing, and Arbor shall refund, on a prorated basis, the portion of the Service not delivered before Arbor received Client's notice.

5.4 Non-refundable portions. Sessions held, reviews completed and written work delivered before Arbor receives Client's notice of cancellation, sessions deemed held under Section 3, and any portion of a Service not used within its Use Period, are non-refundable.

5.5 Cancellation by Arbor. Arbor may cancel a Service upon written notice to Client, including where Arbor cannot accommodate a rush request under Section 1, or where Client or the Student materially breaches these Terms, including Section 7. If Arbor cancels a Service, Arbor shall refund in full if work has not begun, and otherwise shall refund, on a prorated basis, the portion of the Service not yet delivered. A single session cancelled by Arbor shall be rescheduled in accordance with Section 3.

5.6 Refund method. Refunds shall be issued to the original payment method through Stripe, Inc. within thirty (30) days of the cancellation.

6. Transfer to a Sibling. Services are purchased for the named Student and may not be transferred to another student, except that unused Services may be transferred to the Student's sibling with Arbor's prior written consent, which may be given by email. A transferred Service receives a new Use Period under Section 4, determined as if the sibling had purchased it on the date of transfer.

7. Academic Integrity. All materials submitted by the Student shall be the Student's own original work. Arbor provides feedback and guidance only and shall not write, submit or fabricate any portion of an application. Submission of work substantially generated by artificial intelligence or copied from another source is prohibited.

8. No Guarantee of Outcome. Admission, scholarship and financial aid decisions are made solely by third parties. The Services are advisory in nature, and Arbor makes no guarantee, warranty or representation regarding any outcome.

9. Communication and Privacy. Client consents to Arbor communicating directly with the Student by email, text message and video conference. Arbor shall store Client's files in a private, access-restricted Google Drive folder and shall disclose Client's information only to Client's family, to Collaborators (Section 10) to the extent needed to provide the Services, or as required by law. Payment information is held by Stripe, Inc. Arbor may include the Student's admission results in Arbor's publicly shared counseling outcomes, but shall keep the Student anonymous and shall not publicly disclose the Student's name, image, school, location or other personally identifying information unless Client expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

10. Arbor Collaborators. Arbor is a boutique counseling firm. Suhani Garg is the Student's primary counselor. Arbor may engage highly experienced essay editors and former admissions officers ("Collaborators"), working under Suhani Garg's direction, to contribute to a Service. The Mock Admissions Committee Review is conducted by a highly experienced former admissions officer from a university ranked among the U.S. News top 50 national universities. Each Collaborator is bound by written confidentiality obligations at least as protective as Section 9.

11. Continuity of Services. If Suhani Garg becomes unable to provide a Service because of illness, medical emergency or other circumstances beyond her control, Arbor shall notify Client promptly and assign an equally qualified, highly experienced college admissions counselor to continue the Service on the same terms. Within thirty (30) days after being introduced to the assigned counselor, Client may instead elect to pause the Service, or to cancel it and receive a prorated refund for any portion of the Service not yet delivered, in which case the Resolution Period in Section 5.3 shall not apply.

12. General. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota. Arbor may update these Terms prospectively; the Terms in effect at the time of purchase shall govern that purchase. Questions regarding these Terms may be directed to suhani@arboradmissions.com.
