Turn potential into a story colleges remember

We measure our work in growth: students who know what they want to study and why, a high school record that proves it, essays in their own voice, and the confidence to choose the right college with the right aid. Ongoing counseling gets you there step by step, with insight from inside admissions offices and leading consultancies. Need help with just one piece? Individual services cover that too.

How we meet: one-on-one video sessions, with email support between meetings.

Investment: packages are tailored by grade; we’ll talk through options in your free consult.

Why ongoing counseling

The strongest applications are built over time, not assembled at the end

01

A small caseload

We take a limited number of students each year. Your student gets depth, continuity and attention that large companies can’t match.

02

Insider perspective

Experience working with top global admissions consultancies, plus a second expert eye from experienced essay editors and former admissions officers.

03

One connected strategy

Courses, summers, research, leadership, college list, essays and interviews planned as one story, rather than scattered pieces.

04

Better value

Everything in one plan, with sessions and support built in. Fees for individual services bought in 9th to 11th grade also count toward it.

Mock Admissions Committee Review

Admissions officers spend only minutes on each file, so every part of your application has to make an impact. A highly experienced former admissions officer from a top-50 university gives your complete application a thorough, committee-style review and shows you exactly what to strengthen, while there’s still time to act.

How it works
  1. You send your application. Your full Common App (or Coalition or UC) as a PDF, plus each college’s supplemental essays in a Word file for in-line edits. Essays should be final or nearly final, at or just above the word limit, and files can’t be resubmitted, so check that every part of your application is there.
  2. It’s read the way a committee would. Within 10 business days, a former admissions officer from a top-50 university reads your whole application as one file.
  3. You get a full review. They score your academics, extracurriculars, essays and overall application, point out the gaps, and suggest improvements that may still be possible.
  4. Every essay comes back edited. Your Common App personal statement or UC PIQs, every supplemental essay for the included college and any honors college essay come back with in-line edits and comments.
  5. Then a live debrief. A 45-minute session to walk through the review, answer your questions, or review your revisions.

$750 includes your full application and one college. Each added college is $350: your full application is reviewed again with that college in mind, and that college’s supplemental essays and any other college-specific components get in-line edits and comments. Book the debrief at least 10 business days out so there’s time to read.

Aid and Scholarship Advising

The sticker price is rarely what families pay, and aid offers often decide where a student can actually go. Over five one-on-one sessions we find scholarships worth applying for, make the forms manageable and make sure no aid is left on the table, so the right college is also an affordable one.

How it works
  1. A short scholarship profile. Your student tells me about their interests, activities and goals.
  2. Your scholarship shortlist. Within 7 business days, I send 10 to 15 good-fit scholarships.
  3. Scholarship strategy (two student sessions). Your student picks where to apply, and we plan the applications together.
  4. Application editing. When your student’s merit-based scholarship application is ready, they send it to me, and it comes back with in-line edits within 10 business days.
  5. Aid planning (two family sessions). Your aid plan and college list: how need-based aid works, what your family can expect to contribute and what each college weighs. Then the FAFSA, the CSS Profile and school-specific forms.
  6. Offers and appeals (one family session). Aid offers compared side by side, and appeals when they make sense.

Quick questions by email are welcome between sessions, and sessions can be used any time through high school.

$2,0505 sessions · A scholarship shortlist and an edited merit applicationBest started in fall of 10th

Why start early: some of the largest scholarships have deadlines in sophomore or junior year, and the FAFSA looks at your family’s taxes from two years before college. Families can start in any grade.

Extracurricular Advising

Selective programs, competitions and awards give colleges outside proof of what a student can do, beyond grades and test scores. Over five one-on-one sessions your student finds the opportunities worth their time, such as RSI, Clark Scholars, TASS and SSP, and builds an application that stands out.

How it works
  1. Profile review. A close look at your student’s record to find their strengths, the gaps worth closing, and the emerging “spike” to build on.
  2. Mapping opportunities. A personalized list of selective programs, research, internships, competitions and awards that fit.
  3. Timeline and resume. A plan for this school year and summer, and a polished resume and activities list in the Common App format.
  4. Application and essays (two sessions). One selective program application, start to finish, with edits on every essay, back within 10 business days of each draft.

Each added program is $475: one more session plus application and essay editing. Already have a program in mind? Book at least 30 days before its deadline. Sessions can be used any time through high school, and quick questions by email are welcome between sessions.

Leadership Project Mentorship

Colleges look for initiative and impact, not a long list of clubs. Over eight one-on-one sessions, ideally across 6 to 9 months, your student takes a project they care about from first idea to launch, with clear goals, real partners and results they can measure.

How it works
  1. Purpose. Core values and the issue or community your student cares about, then research into what already exists.
  2. Plan. A written project proposal with clear goals and the measures that will show its impact.
  3. Build. An action plan, the right partners and the resources to make it happen.
  4. Launch. Going live, spreading the word and gathering the first results.
  5. Grow and reflect. Scaling what works, a progress report along the way, and a final report your student can point to in applications and interviews.

Sessions run every 2 to 3 weeks. 6 to 9 months is the recommended timeline, and sessions can be used over up to 12 months. The exact path depends on the project and takes shape in the first few sessions; ideas at any stage are welcome.

$2,2008 sessions · A project plan, progress report and final report6 to 9 months recommended · Use within 12 months

Thinking long term? Fees for individual services bought in 9th to 11th grade count toward a counseling package started within 60 days, up to $1,000.

Who will my student work with?

As a boutique counseling firm, we pair every student with Suhani as their primary counselor, and she leads their work from start to finish. We collaborate with highly experienced essay editors and former admissions officers, who join when their expertise helps most. If Suhani is ever unable to continue, for example because of a medical emergency, another highly experienced college admissions counselor will step in so your student’s work carries on.

Do you work with international students?

Yes. We’ve worked with students across the United States and from Latin America, Asia and Europe, and we help families without US citizenship navigate financial aid and visa questions. All counseling happens online, so you can work with us from anywhere.

Can my family get to a good college without a counselor?

You can, and many families do. The hard part is that working it out alone means a lot of guesswork. Families often start too late, and even students with the potential for top colleges end up scattered at best and burned out at worst. A counselor replaces that guesswork with a clear plan, so your student stays on track and you avoid last-minute stress. It also takes the friction out of home: students stay more accountable, and tend to take feedback better from an expert than from a parent. That’s part of why more families are getting this help. A national research study found that over about a decade, the share of high-achieving seniors working with a private college counselor increased by more than 20%, and that number is only growing. You can succeed without one, but expert guidance gives your student the best chance.

When is the best time to start?

Ninth or tenth grade gives us the most room to plan courses, summers and projects. Juniors and rising seniors can still do very well; we simply focus where it counts most.

Can we meet in person?

Counseling is entirely online, which keeps scheduling flexible for busy students and lets us work with families anywhere in the world. We sometimes offer in-person events too, so check our upcoming events.

Do you write essays for students?

No. Every idea and story is the student’s own. We help them find it, then edit closely, with in-line edits and suggestions on wording, until it reads as clearly and powerfully as possible. That is both ethical and what makes an essay convincing.
